I think on reflection the above is right that Live Bed Show is what was actually skipped; SSS was part of a list of what looked like a 4-song encore, maybe just ran out of time with all the banter.
Oh God, can I afford it? Can I afford not to? It might be the last ever Pulp gig in the UK!
I gotta be honest, I want to hear Wickerman. I'd have prefered a route into Seconds EP or summat like The Professional but I guess I'm getting what I expected.
Sorry but did anyone who was meant to be sitting manage to get into standing area? security didn't seem very tight since the bar opens up onto the stalls

I think it was more or less two hours on stage as they started at about 9pm and came off just after 11pm. They just need to get on stage earlier
Would love to go tonight, but given last night was more or less a perfect set (maybe another Hardcore song would have been good) I'm not regretting it too much. I'm sure they will be back playing another London venue before too long.
They played...
DYRTFT? Countdown Lip Gloss OU Have You Seen Her Lately? Something Changed Disco 2000 Sorted Wickerman Bad Cover Version Babies Underwear This is Hardcore Sunrise Bar Italia Common People
Does anyone know if Jarvis works out these days? I know he's slim but performing for two hours at that intensity at the age of 47 is pretty remarkable. And it was probably more intense than the solo shows I have seen. Someone on this forum mentioned a few years back that he had to give up smoking because of a health condition - do you think he took up the gym at the same time? I can imagine that he keeps that quiet if he does. Doesn't really go with the image I suppose!

mmm, as I am the same age, 47 ain't that old. Must confess it was a bit sweaty down the front, and Jarvis was as drenched as I was. Not known for going down the gym myself, but I cycle and walk a fair amount, so have some sembelance of fitness, though sadly not quite as slim as I was even 6 years ago. He probably just collapses in a heap after the gig and re-hydrates the next day. That's what I'm doing.
Low point of gig last night was when some bloke in front of me took off his shirt. Not very pleasant, and I had to sharply move a few feet to the left.
Jarvis has always been a slim guy. I guess that is the way he is build. I know some older men who aren't going to the gym either, but are also staying slim and always have been.

Amazing stuff. Did Russell leave the stage for BCV / Wickerman?
Yes. Russell arrived belatedly on stage for the encore as well. Probably had planned to do something else ahead of Razzmatazz until they realised the time. Three backing singers replaced him for BCV / Wickerman.
Hawley generally acted like the sub coming on and off, surprisingly he first appeared for Lip Gloss. Only time I think everyone (backing singers included) were on stage was at the end of Sunrise.
Would love to hear Sheffield Sex City live. That was a damn good set yesterday, but if they were to play this tonight it would be pretty damn perfect:
DYRTFT? Countdown Lip Gloss OU Have You Seen Her Lately? Something Changed Sorted Sheffield Sex City Live Bed Show Babies Joyriders The Fear Sunrise Bar Italia Common People
Encore

Possibly up to 4 of these, but I wouldn't expect The Fear as they don't seem to be playing anything bar This Is Hardcore off Hardcore. It seems to be an album they are choosing to forget.
Acrylic Afternoons and Like a Friend may happen, but I would also expect one surprise ala Wickerman. As I won't be there, they are sure to play My Legendary Girlfriend.

It wasn't made during the best times of their lives was it?

Well in Australia they played The Fear, Party Hard and This is Hardcore - but heard them soundcheck Help the Aged, Sylvia and Glory Days In Melbourne. But Sheffield Sex City - thats just fucked with my head totally. Would love to hear them play it......

I suspect that has a lot to do with it. Only other song that has got an airing at a festival is Party Hard unless you include Like A Friend from the same era.
I guess that the set tonight is a core nine songs (DYRTFT?, Something Changed, Disco 2000, Sorted, Babies, This is Hardcore, Sunrise, Common People, Mis-shapes) plus nine others from Separations onwards.

They did. Probably because Russell wasn't there. Who knows, tonight may be a little more hardcore.

I really enjoyed last nights gig. Got there really early so I could be at the front unfortanly had to leave towards the end of Common People as had a 11.30 train to get back to Leeds. I still can't believe they played Countdown was so shocked it came so early in the set as well. I may have squeed like a little girl.
I did notice they seemed to have a few issues with the sound Jarvis seemed to keep asking them to turn it up. I guess the guys where having issues hearing it but sounded great our end.
I did notice Jarvis seemed to be getting a little mad at a few things but he was great with the crowd and was nice to see Richard as well.
I am SOO excited to finally be seeing Pulp in the flesh after all these years! Being a yank, and too young to appreciate them in their heyday, I vowed that if they ever re-formed, I would fly over and see them play...and now I've got the chance.
My boyfriend (who lives in England) and I will be going tonight at Brixton Academy.
Does anyone know if there will be tour t-shirts for sale at the show? I'd really love to get one if they're available!

No tour t-shirts as such, but you can get one that says "I SAW PULP LIVE" and there are some with album covers + common people cover. All at http://www.iffytonstores.co.uk/pulp/
Haven't got anything to add to the comments about last night that people haven't said already. Just that it was everything that I could have hoped for in a Pulp gig and more! Also, the mere mention of "Silence"...just to hear the name of the song pass Jarvis's lips...made me laugh out loud.
Great gig! Wickerman and Have You Seen Her Lately were particularly good to hear. Eamonn made a sign saying 'Russell you are the one' that Jarvis read out. Jarvis also accepted a Mexican flag and a packet of Skittles from the crowd. He also had a little hissy fit with Mark near the end for making noise whilst he was talking. Can't wait for tonight!
