Me an'all. Really wish I was going but can't really. If they do their own tour later it would be great to meet some of you.

I think along with Glasto it'll be the best gig of the summer so enjoy.

For anyone who's been to one of these Hyde Park shindigs before, how does the admission system work? Once you've got your wristband, presumably you can move on and off the site at will should you wish?

I've never been, but the terms and conditions on the website state the tickets are single-admission, no reentry.

Thankfully you can take your own food and drink, plastic bottles only.

Best to walk.   Assuming you get out at about 10.30pm, just head down Park Lane to Hyde Park Corner and then on from there.  Less than an hour's walk.  Otherwise walk to Oxford Circus and catch Victoria Line down.    I think it's best to not go anywhere near Marble Arch afterwards.

How many from here are confirmed as going to Wireless then? Seems like it's almost all the forum regulars!

As I've never seen Pulp in a field, I got a ticket last week.  Pretty pleased I did as since the weekend there is suddenly a lot more interest.

I admire those travelling from far and wide.  Last gig I went to was just inside M25 and sat on a platform in distant Whyteleafe on one of the coldest nights of 2010 thought wtf am I doing here?  Four trains and two hours later, I resolved never again.

Just hoping the rain doesn't pour down.  Whenever I have gone to see a band in a field in the past it has.  Forecast looks good (Partly cloudy, high 22C)

I'm sorry if these nights have been mentioned before in a thread (maybe even this one!)
I've been on holiday and haven't been through everything yet

Anyway, there are 2 pulp related nights this weekend
http://www.howdoesitfeel.co.uk/club.html - doing an alternative pulp top ten. these nights are always good.

and at the phoenix on saturday (behind john lewis on oxford street)
"FIRST SATURDAY OF THE MONTH

We're delighted to bring you this great night of new and upcoming bands, and the best in cutting edge new music.

how busy do you lot reckon it will be? I thought the general impression was that it wouldn't be too packed, but after Glastonbury...

I think the interest has gone up.  Lots of pictures of Pulp live, the Kate Moss incident, etc.

That said, it's not sold out.  They have tickets for sale on the day from 10am, but I'm hoping it's not too packed.  Capacity is 65,000, but 20,000 people in a field would do.

The Victoria Line is actually closed this weekend anyway, so I'll either be attempting to get the bus (ha!) or just walking it. Thanks for all the travel advice!

smile  So much for local knowledge!   Head out by the south exit to Hyde Park Corner, will be a short walk to Victoria.

The various Pulp related nights that are sometimes advertised on this site always appeal to me, but I'm never at the right place at the right time. However this time I can make the Saturday one so I plan to do so.

As for meeting inside Hyde Park, well I see there is a designated meeting point on that lovely bright map ArrGee has posted, how about meeting there at 4.30pm?

For those heading straight in and straight to the front it is maybe easiest if you all meet up right there, in front of the stage, as it shouldn't be crowded at that point. Just post what you look like and are wearing on the day so others recognise you to say hello. Then you can all draw straws and pick someone to come meet the rest of us at 4.30pm to hopefully bring the two groups together.

Sound like a plan?

Well, I probably just look like your scary uncle!  I don't suppose there will be many 6 foot blokes with white hair there (with the odd black highlight), so if you see one it's probably me.   Don't know what I'll wear, depends on the weather.  Sadly all my crimpelne shirts have been long consigned to the dumper, so probably just t-shirt and shorts.  I'm thinking Jules & Vincent in Pulp Fiction. disbelief

In that case I probably look like your scary little sister - small, skinny, short blond bob. The only thing I know for definite Ill be wearing is my old Pulp badge with 'I'll see what I can do' on it.

No, you are wrong - I would love to be normal. And I'd love to go to town but I just can't risk it!

I look like my avatar, though I may have my hair up. Look for a "traditionally built" woman in black and grey with brown boots. And sunglasses if I find them.

Argh...haven't decided what to wear yet. Oh, decisions decisions! Is it cool these days to wear a t-shirt of the band that you are going to see?

Should we have some way of exchanging numbers? Obviously putting them on a public forum is silly but maybe if people put their names in for a PM system then that would be OK?

I would volunteer myself as long as people don't mind trusting someone with relatively few posts on here!

If interested PM me your numbers then I'll distribute them via PM to the other people who have sent numbers too, so if people turn up late etc they can try and find the others? Also for example The Horrors are on from 16:20-17:00 and so I wont be able to make the meetup, and I think one or two others were interested in seeing them too...

You should probably splash out on a taxi Steve!

I think I may be a contender for the furthest travelling distance to do for this show... as I had bought my big brother and his girlfriend tickets for The Flaming Lips at Ally Pally on the Friday for his birthday back in October and then Pulp reformed and announced this concert - and so there are now 10 of us travelling down on the Saturday. Because I work on the railways I can get free travel for everyone but they must be accompanied by me!

So I'm travelling Newcastle to London Friday, watching The Flaming Lips. Travelling back with my brother and depositing him in Newcastle on Saturday then immediately picking up my 9 mates and travelling back to London, arriving back Saturday evening then taking everyone back home on Monday means a round trip of just under 1000 miles!

Saw Flaming Lips last night at Eden and they were really mind-blowing. Enjoy! Am feeling shattered this morning... Like you, I got my tickets before Wireless. And I'm taking the (not very aptly named) sleeper from Cornwall to London tonight. Plan to go to Tracey Emin exhibition tomorrow - seems appropriately 90s with all that confessional stuff about class and sex

Not sure what I'm wearing yet but I will be the tallish woman with a short blonde bob who keeps blabbing with the emotion of seeing Pulp live for the first time. I'll be standing next to my husband, a very tall skinny man with big glasses who is frequently told he looks like Jarvis. He jokes that Jarvis' current look is based on his own (he's always been rather tweedy and now he actually IS a geography professor) as they vaguely knew each other when there were students. And, before this all sounds too stalkerish, I didn't go looking for a Jarvis lookalike - we've been together since long before I was into Pulp
