French @~#s...Barcelona was gonna be the comeback :(
Edit: This is a proper show, rather than a festival yeah? So they'll probably test out the entire summer set of songs they'll play (18 maybe for example) when most festival dates will see them play 12 as a sub-headliner and 15 or 16 as the main headliner.
Wouldn't be surprised to see another French date or two, Paris perhaps. What's the capacity of this place in Toulouse?

Kind of worked out well for me this. I hate flying so I'm heading to Barcelona for Primavera by train. Just bought a ticket for this gig so looks like I'm now going via Toulouse instead of Montpellier as I was previously looking at.
One thing I just thought of, if Jarvis does the in between songs banter in French not being able to understand him because my own French is basic could be strange!

> Pulp played there on the His'n'Hers and Different Class tours. Maybe it holds good memories. Well, it's not actually the same venue. The old one was destroyed in 2001 when a factory exploded (just 10 days after September 11th). But yes, I think it must remind them the good old days.
I've never been in Toulouse of my life, but this will be a premiere: I've bought my tickets for the show.
I will be in Barcelona for Primavera. Is there any way I can swing this and make it back to Barcelona early on the 26th? The bus is 80 euros and doesn't return until 1530, which is too late because I really need to be back by noon at the latest? Are there any cheaper ways to travel?

I saw them post Coxon in '03, headlining Reading. I don't remember exactly but it didn't seem long, despite that I wasn't enjoying it. I remember a particularly shite version of Parklife. I have to say they totally redeemed themselves in '09 tho'.
There's no way Pulp will play close to 25 songs. Primarily for two reasons.
1: Their songs tend to be on the longer side. Sure, there's plenty of 3-4 min gems but stuff like Sunrise, Hardcore, Common People, FEELING CALLED LOVE, Live Bed Show extended, She's A Lady with build-up etc. (which all stand a good chance of being played), combined, take a good chunk of time.
2: Jarvis is the king of banter. The talking between songs will be as long as the time it takes for many bands to play a song in full! And that's a good thing. Give me that over Albarn's non-stage persona.
Pulp gigs tend to be ''events'' more than straightforward concerts, if that doesn't sound too precious. Or at least they'll want these reunion shows to be. Every ounce of intensity etched from each song. Of course I could be wrong and they might rattle their way through as many songs as possible in the allotted time they're given but I just don't see it. Extended intros/outros/banter etc. is the Pulp way. Hopefully an indoor tour of their own shows will yield longer, more unusual set-lists at a later stage.
Plus, they're all getting on a bit. They have to pace themselves ;)
You're right, of course. Personally, I'd love to hear Seductive Barry (however unlikely) & it'd be dissapointing if that weighed in under at least 9 1/2 mins. Completely unrelated (2am here, sitting with a beer lol) I just got the weirdest feeling they're gonna play (open?) with You're Sister's Clothes. Hmmm. That would be cool.
