So I have a question: Should we post a link to the board on their page, or do we want to stay 'nice & quiet'?
In the past, I would have abhored any suggestion that we remain 'exclusive' or whatever, but over the quiet years I guess we've become a little community.
Personally, I think we should post a link. But I'm not about to go ahead & do it without discussing it first.
Obviously, it would result in more traffic to the board. & that would bring its idiots. But I'm sure most Pulp fans are people we want to talk to. Also, I'm sure that with the group active again, myself & the other moderators will be frequenting far more often, meaning that idiocy can be kept to a minimum.
I've learnt through frequenting other bands forums that sharing the same taste in music as someone is absolutely no guarantee that they will not otherwise be a total prick. Unmoderated boards with a lot of passing traffic turn into places rife with abuse.
Well, it's not really anything to do with me, as I don't have to do any of the work involved, but I guess my vote would be, on balance, to post a link. I guess that would come with the downside that putting personal information that we might now feel comfortable doing would no longer be so 'safe', and arranging meetings etc might be a bit more logistically difficult if 50 people wanted to turn up! But, I've been visiting Bar Italia (thank you Steve!) since the days of having to visit a public library to get on the internet and avid reading of the lipgloss digest :) And, the only reason I knew about the existence of Bar Italia was because of links that were posted back then. I guess since the mothballing of the PulpPeople website new fans are less likely to find this forum, which is a shame. Though, I can definitely see both sides! I totally get you James.
Personally, I like the fact this place is relatively quiet. If it was swamped by thousands of people, it would all become a bit faceless... and I certainly couldn't do any DVDs, for fear of legal action.
Surely anyone who wanted to read/post on a Pulp messgae board would be able to find this one with very little effort.
In my experience Facebook groups tend to be a very poor indication as to how many people really like something but they are a useful tool for spreading the word if you so wished to do so.

Yes, I have a dizzy memory of finding this forum by looking through acrylicafternoons..or the "music from a bachelors den"-blog. If someone want to find a message board about Pulp it's not impossible and it's definitely worth the effort.
Nonono, I really really don't think anyone should post a link. I say so just because of the baritalia email account thing.. stuff like that could get fucked up if loads of people suddenly flood the board, not to mention leave us open to spambots etc.
I think that if people are really into Pulp they'll easily find us. I did!

If it was up to me, we would post a link; there are enough moderators to stop any spammers/trouble. I'll be posting a link to my website when it's ready.
