There's a nice appraisal here from an interesting American perspective. I quite liked it anyway - the description of the Dunhills-smoking Angolophile student hipsters reminded me of some of the people who used to frequent the old Lipgloss mailing list.

I remember writing a big review of it (possibly on here) five years ago on the tenth anniversary. It would be too sad to do that again. But Different Class was the first album I loved, remains my favourite album and is the main reason why I still obsess about this band more than a decade after first hearing it.
Kind of fitting that Girls Like It Too came out this time last year, and of every other non-DC song Jarvis wrote, I think Girls... probably captures the masterful pop and playful lyrics of that album the most.
If Different Class has existed for a larger portion of my life than it never existed then it's official... I'm old!
As for the article. It's a nice little read. It's food for thought that people are still only just discovering the band and will do for generations to come.
There are tracks on that album I will never tire of hearing even though I must have heard them thousands of times. It really is standing up to the test of time rather well!
