Interesting. I had wondered what songs he would play with Air when the gig was announced. Assumed he'd do One Hell Of A Party, the song he contributed to their last (or last but one?) album and maybe a Gainsbourg song or two. Looking at the set-list there were just a couple of solo songs - both from the first album and two Hardcore era tracks both of which would have been written round the same time as Moon Safari. Would have been great if My Erection, the other vocoder-using, squelchy electronic song in a similar vein to Ladies Man from that time had been played too. Or Air getting their teeth into something like Feeling Called Love.
I'd love to see Jarvis and Richard Hawley do a gig comprised of the songs they wrote between This Is Hardcore and We Love Life as well as bits from each other's solo stuff. It's interesting to compare 'Happy New Year' which they performed a year or two back at the Royal Albert Hall and 'Naked In Pitsmoor' which it eventually became on Hawley's first mini-album. I love their acoustic version of Born To Cry (which is on youtube) too.
