This is something I did a long time ago with my friend Chris for his fanzine 'Gwyneth':

For the full effect, here's a photo of me and Matthew taken the same day:

I don't think I've ever been so thin (or indeed ginger), before or since.

Heh!

The late 90's were a rough time for indie kids. We were all ginger on the inside.

What makes this photo special for me is the Mackey-coif on the other kid.

"Every ex-member, everywhere, frequently"

Should have set up a retirement home for ex Pulp members.

Yeah, Mackey crossed with Brett Anderson.

Mark looks a bit like that rapscallion, Gary Windass, from Coronation Street.

Why so ginger, Mark?
Btw, I enjoy "bled of our desire to ever hear a mention of Pulp ever again in our lives".
That was 1998. Wasn't The Book already begun by this point...?

Ha. I didn't write the actual article, it was my friend Chris whose zine it was. He had a nice line in hyperbole.

Not sure I can offer a convincing explanation for my teenage hair dying exploits at this stage in the game. It was a cry for help!

Why red, though? I only ask because I was similarly quite red-haired between '98 and '03 at various points. Foolish.

You missed a good party last night. Upon returning to the Queens, we found they weren't serving alcohol unless you had previously registered your card with reception (ha!). Thus we retired to our room with Tom and Lisa, cracked the tops off our lovely Bier Speciale and then crept out of the window and spend an hour arsing around below the second 'E' of the eponymous hotel.

I appear to have some picture of you prostrate, btw.

Bbtw I checked that last line for typos.
