Did you guys hear the interview last night? Jarvis said said that if Pulp were to reform, Glasto next year would be the obvious place to do so as it means so much to them. He also said that he sat next to Michael Evies at the Q awards the other day and had a chat, but didn't want to expand! So we never know hey? Now.... for us without tickets.... let the begging begin
Would it be very selfish of me to say that as there is probably not much hope in hell that I will be able to make it to Glasto next year, I hope is just talk?
I managed to miss this, despite starting the thread
I've a Glasto ticket for only the second time and having never, ever seen Pulp would be absoloutly thrilled if they played. In fact, it would be a dream come true.
I had an inkling when the rumours first popped up that Jarvis may have been 'testing the waters' to guage peoples reaction. I hope so as it's clearly caused a big enough stir.
Please Jarvis, just one gig!?
Or maybe two gigs; one at Glasto, and one warm-up gig in a 20 capacity venue for your fans on this message board ;) :D
On youtube there´s a fan vid of Jarvis signing autographs at the Q awards from a few weeks ago. Does anyone know why he was there? Despite his solo and Pulp records always getting good reviews from that magazine, he wasn´t nominated for ´owt (did Pulp win the Best Live Band at the ´96 Q awards? That´s all I can remember them being nominated for). So was he presenting an award, like he did to Scott Walker a few years ago?

Right... I reckon it MAY happen now, but with a slightly different line-up I reckon. Let's suppose they do it, of course they wouldn't rehearse for ages to do just one gig, they would probably do a few more around the contry, just like Blur did. My vote goes for a Brixton Academy residency, just like they've done twice before (correct me if I'm wrong)
I suppose I could cope with missing them at Glastonbury, if there were other opportunities. It does make sense that they would play other gigs too. I was at the last ever Pulp gig (to date!), so I would love to be at their first comeback gig.
Which gig was that Anet? one of the forest ones? Well, have a look at this http://musicnews.virginmedia.com/entertainment/news/music/2009/11/18/jarvis_cockers_moustache_getaway
He is sending us mixed messages! Oh and darn it, he now has a girlfriend.... guttered hehe

It was the one at the magna centre, in Sheffield - dec 2002 i think. But I did manage to get to one of the forest gigs too - Bedgebury (Kent), or somewhere like that!
It is now getting a bit irrating, these 'on-off' reunion stories - they can't all be true at the same time.
i've stood next to jarvis at gigs a few times, and he's been behind me at the bar, and he really did smell sometimes i'm afraid. this was years ago mind. but i still love him!
and no, i didn't follow him at gigs, he would just be there. i would crap my pants then run away. slowly and subtly haha.
How can you not wash everyday ? that's disgusting. English people keep on saying the french are smelly, but this actually seems to be the opposite. From my experience anyway.
hahaha this is hillarious! To be honest he did look a bit manky a few years back when the first solo album came out! but I doubt you could smell it at a gig, what do you mean, like a homeless kind of smell! hahaha.... I did begin to wonder why all of a sudden he had very clean hair!
one of the times he stood behind me at the bar at the scala when i went to see clinic, this must have been 99ish i think. he just stunk of fags and staleness! possibly down to his jumper which was an arran one - there are plenty of pictures of him wearing it around, i think it was his favourite thing for a while!
I've mentioned it before on here, but yes, when I stood next to him recently whilst he was signing my copy of 'FC', yes he did smell! I'm pretty sure it was the jacket - yeah, a sort of homeless man kind of smell. Funny, the first thing I noticed when he came on stage last week was that he still had that same jacket on, which is the same one he is wearing on the cover of 'FC'. So, it doesn't matter how many times a week he washes himself, he still needs to wash that bloody jacket!

Jarvis haircuts where indeed much better in the 90's, from the early his n hers period to the hardcore era. I guess when they released WLL he's priorities in life changed.
But speaking of the video, he says that most of his clothes are second hand so maybe that explains the smell, and that his found trousers in a skip.. i guess they smelled a bit too.

Incidently - the live footage from that video comes from the 1995 documentry 'No Sleep 'Till Sheffield', which (I will have to do some digging) I should still have on VHS if another Fuss Free Production is on the cards? Pip?
