Hi there - I'm a long time Pulp fan - sorry you haven't seen me here before.
My film HeadBox, set to music including Pulp's 'This is Hardcore' and 'Wickerman', is getting a screening at the full Portobello Film Festival on 9th Sept. Check out the film above, if you want to skip to Pulp's songs then This Is Hardcore is the second song in Part1 - and Wickman is about halfway through Part3 (though I'd encourage a full viewing of course!)
Also features Kasabian, Misty's Big Adventure, The LoveGods, Eels, Blur
Odd little film that. I won't even pretend to understand what was going on, but it was good. That image of the girl hanging in the kitchen was rather disturbing though.
I was a little confused as to what the time frame of the drama was. The "recent" photos were labelled 1998, yet the university letter was dated 2008 and also if set in 1998, would render some of the songs used rather anacronistic, but apart from that i thought it was really good.
Good luck with all that, and hey since it is a London based film festival, you never know, a certain Mr. Webber might be floating about. ;O)
Ha ha - eagle eyed Sarah! :( the uni letter is a mistake, yes, one that we'd already shot before we realised. hey ho. There are many, many more more mistakes - liek the constantly changing style of the main character's glasses and hair cut... even his height since it was shot on and off over a year during which he went through puberty.
Bear in mind, this is a youth club project - we only had 2 hours every Monday evening. Glad you liked it Sarah - and Fuss Free, I haven't yet seen IG, so I'll comment when I have... personally I think I'll probably agree with you - but it will be a tight call... ;)
