Errrm, there was some talk of that when I found it on that ITN Digital website, but as I remember it looked like you could only buy it if you were a programme maker or whatever. (Plus it would probably have been rather expensive).
Surely someone, somewhere taped it off the telly at the time.

It was me who was going on about buying it ages ago. You can purchase it for personal use for £99... Obviously we couldn't put it on the internet, but I'm sure there would be enough people on here who'd be willing to put in £10 each or something, one of the most trusted board members could purchase it, make copies of the dvd and mail it to everyone who put money in. At least we'd FINALLY have it, instead of just hoping that it's going to turn up one day.. (if it hasn't already, do you think it ever will?)
And talking about TV appearances, does anyone have the songs from the Stage One show that aren't on youtube? (Death II, Separations and Countdown I believe...)

I have a fairly bad quality videotape of the whole thing (minus the first few seconds of Death II, which are missing on every copy I know of). One of these days I'll get a capture card and start putting some of this stuff online...

Have these stills been recently added as I don't remember seeing them before? http://www.pulpwiki.net/Pulp/July1991TheNewSessions
Will, you didn't splash out a hundred quid for the privilege of finally having this footage, did you?!
Looks really decent quality...if that DVD of other contemporary footage from the Stage One programme is still happening, I really hope this is also included. They seem to be the earliest documents of decent footage of Pulp. I mean, as fascinating as the Lost Tape on the new BeatIsTheLaw film is, it was recorded on, at the time, obsolete technology and can be difficult viewing.
Those stills were added last week. They have come out quite nicely considering that they originate from an old VHS tape. No money was paid for the privilege.
I too hope that this footage is released along with the Stage One recording.
It's a great record of Pulp playing live at that time. To me it seems surprising that it was filmed at all. It was, after all, only the second time they'd played in almost two years. I suppose the positive reviews the My Legendary Girlfriend single had just received had something to do with it. Also, they were supporting World of Twist, who featured in the same series, so I guess they might have been filmed at the same time.

There isn't much sign of the commercial release yet, is there?
Anyway, it does seem slightly churlish to have a copy and not share it at all. So for a start, here's Death II (my favourite): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7XdIuhbr6M4

Many thanks to Jason, whose tape this is from.
Wow, Russell's guitar... that is VERY out of tune! A shame..
He's still feeling his way into being Jarvis in '91 isn't he? I've noticed that on all the '91 footage, things will be very different just a year later in '92.
It does sound a bit under rehearsed. Looking at the gigography, they had only played once in the preceding year, so it's not really surprising. I do though still find it an enjoyable bit of footage, but I prefer the Stage One (Town & Country Club) recording from later in the year.
As this footage is going to be released at some point (hopefully soon), I don't plan to put any more on YouTube for the time being.

Hark! Another. I've just taken £15 from me wallet and stashed it in Truth and Beauty on the bookshelf in preparation. That should cover it. If it's tooooo long before the release, would someone please remind me where I hid it?

Very enjoyable to watch. Russell strikes me as one of those guitarists who - and I've worked with a few - has no idea how to sort out problems when they start to arise. Like being out of tune. Or if his amp fed back or something...
