Oh, bollocks, I've done it the wrong way round, haven't I?
Feeble jokes aside, I don't know what's happened. The entire site seems to be down, as evinced by the lack of masthead up there and background on this page. I shall Look Into It.
Nah, it's a valid question, I've only held off providing more information because I'm a bit embarrassed. Truth is, I fucked up and let the registration lapse, and haven't had the time and money to fix it yet. Will do so soon, provided some cybersquatters with very poor judgment as to what constitutes a piece of prime Internet real estate don't nick the URL in the meantime.
Steve, if everyone, or anyone who so chose, was to donate a couple of quid to help register the site, and cover other sundry expenses required for its' upkeep, would you consider getting Jayenkai or someone equally "tecchy/enthused" to help get the entire website back up and running?
Call it a bribe, but seriously, I would pay good money to have the wealth of material that used to adorn this website back again, now extended I'm sure with plenty of new/unfinished articles you've written in the meantime. This, AcrylicAfternoons and Pulpwiki would be THE holy trinity of fan sites - a brilliant example of how to make mere freaks become completely misshapen and alienated. I mean it's been, what 3(?), certainly 2 years since the whole site was up and running. I've tried some kind of life with the edges taken off and it's shit...so please, just, y'know...
Cheers Mark, it's a useful resource and nice to see the old site again. But it's so mothballed, that a lot of the stuff could be spruced up, and given the Pulp related activity in the last couple of years, namely the wealth of previously unreleased songs made available,( both through the reissues and on here/online), and Jarvis' fledgling solo career, I'm sure its revamp would be like having a completely new Pulp resource.
BTW, forgot to mention in the previous post that Mike's 'Music From A Bachelor's Den' contains brilliant reviews of Pulp songs.
Fair dues, I don't always agree with your stance on Pulp songs, i.e Ansaphone being too shiny ;)...but more often than not I find myself nodding to your extremely well thought-out, articulate critiques. And when one day I attempt to write my opus on the songs of Pulp, you will be co-erced into providing these same musings.
The URL is back in my greedy grasping hands. The various bits of the site are being transported onto a computer which actually works. Things are happening. Watch this space just a little longer. Huzzah!
