This is the real Peter Mansell and is the first and last post I will contribute to this site (thats not rude is it?)
I have not been known as manners or called myself manners for atleast 20 years, when out of the blue in Sheffield over Christmas (in the washington boozer) some young lady approached me and asked what I thought of her post on Bar Italia?????
I had no idea what she was talking about and had never heard of it (sorry)
So I decided to do some research and found that I had posted some topics!!!!!
At first it made me laugh..but soon realised people might actually think it was me!!
I also (to my suprise) found that someone was pretending to be me on myspace.....something I have never been part of. (Now Cancelled)..anyway to cut a very long story short the person Imitating me is a bloke called Michael!!! he was a friend at one time in London that....I don't know maybe wanted to be more than friends, he use to sit outside my door all night...FRUIT CAKE!!???
So Hello Mark Sturdy and fair play on your book!! and hello Steve H!! (remember those days in flockton court).
Just to settle one comment left by michael the fruit cake....That demo that he is talking about in one of his comments does exist...the cunt stole it from my house, it is from a demo session with Chris Thomas in Surrey...and I'm sorry to anyone who would think it was me trying to get some attention!!

Ayup Peter, I do indeed remember Flockton Court, hope they've changed the carpets since I moved on, they were horrible. Lets have a little flash back and look back in time and a reminder to those who dont know what has gone on here.....

Consider this for a minute. You're an ex-member/close associate of a famous band, and as a result you get given a copy of the work-in-progress demos for their new album. Obviously you don't go around copying this for people or putting it on the internet or anything because it goes without saying that this would be a massive breach of trust.
Years later you find the CD and post the tracklisting on here in case anyone's interested. Clearly it's STILL not your music to give away, so the thought of copying/uploading it for anyone, let alone random internet people you've never met, doesn't cross your mind.
That's before you get half a dozen responses variously demanding that you put the tracks online, accusing you of being an imposter and/or making the whole thing up, and saying you've got the song titles wrong.
That's clearly going to change your mind isn't it? Well done everyone"
Now.....I think an apology to a number of people is required here.....
Peter, welcome to Bar Italia. Glad that you have been able to post and clear this up.
Not really Scott... whether those original messages were posted by Peter Mansell or someone else, my main point was that I thought you were being a bit of a berk, and that still stands, so I don't particularly feel the need to apologise.
Got to say the person posting as 'Manners' was a very convincing imposter in terms of the stuff he was coming out with. There were a few bits of early Pulp trivia that weren't in my book but seemed totally plausible, and in some cases seemed to be far too minor and obscure for anyone to bother making up. Same with the Myspace profile, there were recent photos and other little references that seemed fairly convincing. That's a seriously good stalker you've got there Mr Mansell, not that that's going to be any consolation!
Anyway... perhaps it's best leave it at that. Hello to the real Peter Mansell, if you're out there. Nice to have heard from you.

Berk? Listen - the point of my last post was that you owe people an apology - frankly the fact you still have the nerve to call me names which I have to say, is awfully big of you I have to say...... I dont want an apology from you - I couldnt care less.....I feel you owe OTHERS an apology.
It was my questioning of the song 'I've Got A Dream For You' a few months back that originally brought the initial Mr Mansell to post on these pages. I never thought it would spiral into a row over fraudulent identities. He seemed to know a hell of a lot for someone taking the piss...
Anyway, I'm glad my attempt to get another ex-Pulponian on board, ie Mr Havenhand, has worked out; Steven's brought some great stories here, and always in good humour (which considering Pulp being a generally moody lot at the best of times, it's no wonder he didn't last long!)
