...if Jarvis took any inspiration from "What In The World" by David Bowie, where the first line in the song is "You're just a little girl with grey eyes"...?

Never noticed that.  The songs are so different, it's hard to see a direct influence, but maybe subconsciously.  Little Girl With Blue Eyes is far more Velvet Underground than Bowie, but Jarv was surely familiar with Low and the opening line of LGWBE probably "felt right".

Anyone here a lawyer?

Mmm, I wasn't looking for any direct link...and I don't think Jarvis would ever cite anything from Low as an influence (I think Pulp and Bowie's connections begin and end with the stylophone?)...but I just thought that it was a coincidence that line ended up at the beginning of two completely different songs...save for the eye colour being different of course.

"save for the eye colour being different of course"...kind of like Bowie himself! Ho-ho-ho. Ahem...sorry. :S

I wouldn't be surprised if it was intentional. Don't forget Jarvis has fairly eclectic taste, and a pretty encylopedic knowledge of popular music. And he did cover "Space Oddity" recently, so the Bowie connection isn't totally inconceivable.
