Hello All!!

My Name is Trixy...and yeah I'm really called that....ouch I know!!!

I've always been a huge fan of Pulp and found this site by fumbling through many pulp web pages....I must say I'm very excited by the fact that so many people still want what I want.....and ofcourse that is Pulp !!

I have noticed Mr Havenhand on here with great interest.!!!

I would like to ask you a couple of questions !!

Did you know Peter Mansell and Magnus Doyle???? as I have always wondered what happend to them....I ask this because Freaks is still an album I play and they didn't appear in Mark sturdy's Book......maybe you could shed some light on this Mark????

Did you ever record anything with Pulp????

I think your new stuff is excellent....bring it to the starving Peolple of Lincoln!!!

Thanks very Much

Trixy xx

Hi Trixy

Yes, there are some recordings knocking around of my time in Pulp. If you read some of the other forum threads I've contributed to then you'll find the details there, most of the songs are unreleased to date but they're available via the bar italia yahoo a/c as mp3 downloads. I was also involved with around half the songs on the Seperations album but Steve M ended up recording the bass lines in the end.
I've met Manners & Magnus a number of times. Peter contributes to the bar italia forum every now again in fact, his user name is Manners.
Thanks for the feedback on the new stuff. I'd dearly like to get into a posh recording studio at some point in order to do the songs justice. I was on the verge of doing that but ended up blowing a load on a Gretsch guitar just recently.  Mind you, I can still do the home recordings & I've got a few songs to get out of the way. They'll go on The FNB MySpace page soon I reckon.
Not sure if we'll get up Lincoln, we have a drummer problem at the moment to sort out. Any drummers living near to St Austell are welcome to join the band by the way....if there's anyone out there.

all the best for now Trixy & thanks again

Steven

Hello Trixy

All that I'd add to the above is that Magnus Doyle is alive and well and living in Sheffield... as with Manners, I would have loved to interview him for the book but he just wasn't around at the time. He did come to the launch party in 2003 though....

I don't think Magnus plays anymore. From his posts on here, I get the impression Pete might do a bit, although he isn't involved in any projects at the moment.

There are a few little video snippets from those days - search Youtube for the They Suffocate At Night video (athough the band themselves are barely in it) and "Pulp Interview 84/85".

Yes Pete was there with Jarvis at the Brits - he was Candida's boyfriend for many years after leaving Pulp, so that's the connection.

Hi again!!

I knew the Peter Mansell had a song writing credit on Sunrise...It does say that on the album.......just wondered if Peter and Magnus formed some super group lol...obviously not!!

Thanks for the youtube info....really great to see them...what made me laugh was when they all say they would never move to London......ha ha!!

I wonder if Pulp would have stayed together in Sheffield????...I suppose no one knows the answer to that!!

I got a copy of mishapes the other day.....its got a really unusual dress making kit with it.....I haven't taken it out because it looks like it wouldn't want to go back in.....and if that wasn't enough I got an original copy of dogs are everywhere on fire records....is this a re-release?????.....I tell you the charity shops in Lincoln sometimes come up trumps !!

Thanks for everything.....you have made my pulp searching alot easier!!

Love Trixy x
