hmmmmmmmmmmm.... Fire seem to try and capitalise on Pulp's fame every now and then with cheapy comp. albums. Is this a proper reissue of the original records?
If Fire had looked after Pulp in the 1st they would have been very rich men indeed now!
I think Clive Solomon closed it down. I read somewhere (probably on the Fire site) that he was fed up with losing money. He then started it up again.
Is this a proper reissue of the original records? It looks like they are on CDs.

Well they did get royalties from 'His n Hers', 'Different Class', 'This is Hardcore' and 'We Love Life'. I'm guessing that they did quite well out of 'Different Class'...
How did they end up getting royalties out of those albums?
Was it due to Pulp not forfilling their concractual obligations with Fire? I never knew that!
Sturdy!!!!!! Did you not document that?!
it must have been a complete pisser for them - there's a book to be made on that story alone! I used to study Music Industry Management at Uni - some of the stories you hear are amazing. the one about the verve and bitter sweet syphony was my favourite! The amount of money they must have lost on that record!
Seeing as Truth & Beauty is on my bookshelf beside me here:
p.233 " By July 1993 , the legal problems with Fire had finally been resolved. Pulp had agreed to the label's demand of a series of 'points' on the next four albums...''
...presumably, the last of them being We Love Life. Convenient that, eh?!
Yep, Fire made a mint out of that deal as far as I can tell. Can't get the site to work at the moment though, what does it say Ian? Which singles are being re-released?

Aha, the links are working now. Looks like less like singles being rereleased and more like half-arsed web maintenance and not knowing what's in their own discography. See also: comedy tracklisting for the Dogs Are Everywhere EP, the Separations album being available on 7" (out of stock, mind) and the fact the can't seem to get hold of colour copies of the artwork for half the singles.
