Nice. Most of my 1 gig memory card went to Jarvis Cocker. I took video of the last three songs, but one of the videos won't import off my camera. I put "Big Julie" on youtube, but they make it look like shit, and "Black Magic" is over 100 megs, so I can't upload it.
Yeah, I think I had the same problem!! There were over 300 pics of Jarvis' performance on my card when I got home too. How did that happen? Funny that my husband was the photographer (since he's the tall one). At least he understands and accepts my little obsession...!
Also, on a random bit of inspiration, I started photographing my Pulp collection--posted a photo album of those as well.
You also took some really nice shots--thanks for sharing! I'll check out your videos when I get home.
I read your blog synthetic_fluff - nice read, but i can't see the photos...? What did Russell say when you interviewed him...one of the most consistently interesting interviewees from any articles I've seen of him. And it was his birthday today an'all.
I spent some time looking thru your collection of Pulp stuff! It's really nice. Firstly I can't believe Mark Webber sent you such a lovely letter, I always had him down as a bit of a miserable bugger (Which is not bad - I am one of those!) and secondly I couldn't believe how much of that stuff i used to have myself!
My mother is a bit 'putting-Marty's-stuff-in-the-bin' happy.
After all, I still haven't forgave her for using my limited edition issue of different class for a coaster, when i was 12.
If anyone else has huge Pulpy collections, I'd love to see them! Especially if you live near me! (I haven't met another proper Pulp fan for years around here. There's me, my friend, Sharleen, who are both a bit obsessed - and then there's my best mate and my boyfriend, who love them too but only 'cos i forced them!) You can see the stuff on websites, but i love it when someone actually owns these things! They have a home and a name to belong to! Give them labels!

Mark was a very nice guy--but a bit flirty! I think he had a soft spot for fanzine writers since that's how he started out. I couldn't believe I got a full-out reply from him at the time, though!
I met him the first time when Pulp opened for Blur in America in 1994. After Pulp finished their set, I guess Jarvis & Mark just went to the bar at the back of the club to enjoy Blur's set. Pulp weren't very recognizable at the time, I guess, so they kind of blended in--aside from the fact that Jarvis is about a foot taller than Mark, of course. This was before Mark was a band member, so I didn't know who he was.
When we spotted Jarvis, we went up to talk to him and noticed this wee fellow with him. I didn't know what to say to him but didn't want to ignore Jarvis' friend, so I noticed that he had silver nailpolish and made a comment about it. Mark's reply was, "I painted my toenails sliver, too. I can show you later if you like." Strangest pickup line ever??!
When Pulp finally came to do a US tour as headlliners in 1997, we brought gifts for each of the band members. For Mark, it was a bunch of pastel and sparkly nailpolish.
I'm glad you enjoyed my collection! I can't believe most it has avoided the trash bin, either. A lot of it is stuffed into a large plastic box, so I guess that's what's saving it. I need to scan the photos I took on the tour--but that's a project in itself!

I'll check my settings on the photos--I thought I made them viewable to everyone? Sorry about that.
As far as the Russell interview, you're right! He's a very interesting guy, but we asked him a bunch of dorky questions and were pretty starstruck. I was only 17 at the time, so that's my excuse! I've got a transcript of it typed up--I'll post it on here maybe later tonight when I get home.
Okay, I typed the Russell interview up. Is there a way to just post the word doc to this site somehow? I tried just copy-pasting it to a new thread, but the formatting was strange and it replaced all the apostrophes with question marks...some sort of HTML goof. Changed the font, but still no luck.
