Random topic but has anyone else ever noticed that the official press photo for Relaxed Muscle (20 years ago!) was actually the album cover of 80s NYC gay club group 'Man 2 Man'.

Man 2 Man had one modest hit with "Male Stripper", which honestly isn't half bad.

Seems more like the MSM simply using whatever photos they saw fit

Nope. This was the official photo provided by Rough Trade Management which appeared on their website circa 2003.

Here's a screenshot from the wayback machine:

I knew the photo well because I always assumed the bloke on the left was Jarvis dressing up like Freddie Mercury.

So when I came across "Man 2 Man" in a record shop recently I did a double-take.

Honestly, "Male Stripper (Extended)" is a tune. A bit like if Suicide decided to do a club track. I can see Jarvis digging it and wanted to pay his respects in his way.

Ah, good find. I seem to remember at the start, that Relaxed Muscle's true identity was kept a secret then when they played their first concert, people recognised Jarvis. Maybe Rough Trade initially used a photo of another duo for this reason.
