Cool! Never knew it was pro-shot. Good reunion time capsule given the last show in Sheffield was deemed recorded for the Pulp film rather than a live release. Decent setlist too and all for a great cause.

That sounds great, I wonder if we can download this as it streams- would be amazing to have a pro-shot Pulp concert from this era to watch over and over!

 you could try this...

https://uk.pcmag.com/how-to/40004/how-to-download-youtube-videos

VLC Media Player

Free; Windows, macOS, Linux

I've mentioned the VLC Media Player above because it's a fantastic tool for Windows users that plays back just about any media ever created. It turns out, it also has the ability to download YouTube videos, albeit in a convoluted way. (If you run into any problems with it, you may need to do a full re-install of VLC and clear your cache to make this work.)

Copy a URL from a YouTube video, then open up VLC. From the Media menu select Open Network Stream (Ctrl+N) and paste in the URL. Click Play. When the video is playing, go to Tools > Codec Information. There is a box at the bottom called "Source"copy the URL you find in that box.

Go back to your browser and paste the URLit's a temporary web address and will expire eventuallyin the address bar and start playing the video. When you're viewing the video in the browser, you'll see an option to download the file to keep locally.

However, it appears that VLC is only going to save your file as 1080p and not any higher, even if the original YouTube stream was available in 1440p or 2160p (aka 4K). It also won't convert video to other formats.

Yes but their own gig where the setlist is more varied (ie My Lighthouse, Birds In Your Garden) trumps footage from a fest imo.

I wonder if Brixton gigs were filmed.  And if Sheffield will ever get released/streamed/broadcast as a whole gig.

Always thought that either the Sheffield or Brixton shows would make a cracking live album.

In my hope's and dreams & like a live album like Leonard Cohen's Songs From The Road where it's recordings from lots of different shows, just think how varied the track listing could be with all those songs that only got the occasional outing (Mile End, OU, Countdown, My Lighthouse, Little Girl, Back In LA, Lipgloss, Sheffield Sex City, Wickerman, Trees, Birds In Your Garden... ok it might have to be a triple disc set!)

Good news about this livestream though. I was at this one and it really was a surprise to hear My Lighthouse.

It was my most expensive Pulp excursion.. Proper excellent evening..
Didn't expect anymore shows at the time but they did..
Anyroad, don't need an excuse to donate to teenage cancer trust, a bonus of entertainment, Pulp shaped..
We continue to subsidize this countrty via charitable donations as individuals..
We can't maintain this level of propping up the shortfall from our wanker government..

One of the things Pulp haven't released is a decent live album.  Officially, that is.  Party Clowns, Peel Sessions and This Is Glastonbury is about it.  There was the Ultimate Live DVD, but other than that it is just bootlegs.

Just remembered the Albert Hall show was the one where they handed out little torches to everyone on the door & the killed all the lights for the intro to This Is Hardcore to see thousands of little read dots around the venue. Looked amazing!

It did.  Become more common these days with smart phone, but back then...

...that was the first TCT concert I went to, but have been to a couple since and they tend to be quite special shows. Bands seem to make a little more effort for them.

What a load of shite. Solves one problem mind, I wasn't sure whether to pay for the Divine Comedy livestream of his gig at the Barbican that night as I thought it would clash with this but that shouldn't be an issue now.

I had the same dilemma - Im planning on recording the Pulp gig and watching the Divine Comedy gig live. Disappointing its not the full gig but its helped make a decision I suppose

Looks like TCT streams are available after the event, so you can watch Divine Comedy first.

Noted the full 3 hour Cure gig is available for £5 later this month and you get a shot at winning Bob Smiths guitar.

Shame they arent doing similar with Pulp. I would pay £15 for that ahead of any PPV football.

I was hoping for I Spy.  That was the highlight of the night for me.

So we know there's pro-shot footage of RAH and Sheff Arena and (presumably) full BBC audio of Glastonbury 2011. Maybe a reunion reissue will happen one day.

Im sure someone, possibly Mark Webber, saying there was a technical issue with the Arena footage that meant it couldn't be released in full.

Yeah, or that it was specifically filmed for the movie i.e cut away shots, odd angles etc. Still, I'm sure they have high-quality soundboard audio of the gig.

Well worth a watch. Wow, I didn't know they had a proper string section for This Is Hardcore. Not sure they had ever done that before live.
Had to laugh at the intro to Babies when Jarv gears-up to do the "two guitarists doing their parts close-up facing each other" thing with Hawley. Poor Mark duly takes off his guitar and heads over to his keyboard!

I think it would have made more sense from a financial perspective for TCT to charge/ask for donations if you want to "unlock" the full concert to view but maybe they only did post-production and editing work on these particular songs.

Just got round to watching this. What an amazing performance of TIH. Why the hell they dont do an album tour, I dont know. Take your pick from any of His N Hers, Different Class, or Hardcore - given the orchestral backing, and they would sound absolutely stunning. Ive seen James, and The Lightning Seeds doing this - and its simply mindblowing.

I guess it was hard enough to get everyone together for a few dates back in 2012/2013.   The Divine Comedy were/are planning to do their 10 of their first 11 LPs (excluding debut) with string section last/next September over 5 consecutive nights.

Over 3 nights, Pulp could do...

Separations/Intro

His n Hers/Different Class

Hardcore/We Love Life

The Stranglers and From The Jam do similar with their old albums, playing them in their entirety before a second half of hits.

The Divine Comedy is essentially just Hannon and hired help. Pulp are a collection of wilful buggers, (possibly Nick excluded). That said, they apparently rehearsed 70+ songs ahead of the reunion so in theory it could have been done. They played DC almost in its entirety anyway during most reunion shows. An Intro/HnH or Hardcore/Life night would be great though.

70+ songs - that is almost everything!

Separations 9 + Intro 9 + His n Hers 10 + Different Class 12 + Hardcore 12 + We Love Life 11 = 63

Pretty sure they said that in one of the few interviews they did in 2011. Obviously some b-sides and a smattering of the 80s stuff too would account for some of the total (remember, even Back To LA got an airing in 2012!).

Just done a quick tally from Setlist FM of the number of songs they did in 2011-12. 46 apparently.

https://www.setlist.fm/stats/albums/pulp-bd6bdda.html?tour=33d6b445

Be careful what you wish for.  The Damned have reformed the original line up to play their first two (not altogether great) LPs and whatever else they recorded at the time live.  A mere £77/ticket!

Dont imagine a reformed Pulp circa 1986 playing Freaks, but I would probably pay to see them.  As for IT....
