Forgive me if my skim-reading fails me, but DOES NOBODY WANT LIVE ON?!?!?

It's a "wish-list" so of course I'm picking out a bizarre 22 song, 2 hour long set with a 5 song encore.
Slightly controversial but I could take or leave Common People though I do think it would be amusing to save it for an encore.
I can definitely dream on with this one, though I'm hoping there's a good chance of hearing H'N'H, She's a Lady or MLG on this tour seeing as they've been played live by Jarv Is... in recent years.

DYRTFT
Monday Morning
Underwear
Sylvia
His N Hers
Dishes
After You
She's a Lady
Countdown
I Spy
Babies
Lipgloss
Party Hard
Harcore
My Legendary Girlfriend
Pink Glove
Live On

Encore:
Sheffield Sex City
Razzmatazz
Common People
Bar Italia
Death Goes To The Disco

I think Live On and After You would immediately improve on the 2011/12 reunion if a couple of Different Class songs were dropped. Also think Love Is Blind is strong and vibrant enough to be effective to an unknowing audience too.

Considering I have it as a tattoo on my right wrist and I showed it to Nick on Twitter, it wouldn't surprise me if it Live On managed to sneak on to the set list.

Unsurprising - given my username - but I wish they'd play Lipgloss. I remember Jarvis saying they struggle with the guitar part (moreso I'm sure now that Russell's left), but as the lead single for His 'n' Hers - and such a brilliant track, especially with its explosive ending - surely it'll get a proper outing this time?

It was mentioned in a few of Steve's obituaries (alongside Common People & Disco 2000), which is interesting. I think, as a song, it encapsulates a bit of what Pulp mean to people - the darkness behind the sexy facade. It'd be a lovely one to hear.

There's a few I'd like, to be fair... I imagine they'll play more of This is Hardcore this time - I'm hoping for Sylvia, or I'm A Man, or even Seductive Barry to get an airing. And, of course, Like a Friend.

----

Here's my ideal setlist:

- Do You Remember the First Time?
- Mis-Shapes
- Dishes
- Lipgloss
- Pink Glove
- The Trees*
Underwear*
- Acrylic Afternoons
- Help the Aged
- Disco 2000
- Death II*
- Sorted for Es and Wizz
- F.E.E.L.I.N.G.C.A.L.L.E.D.L.O.V.E
- Sylvia*
- Babies
- Like a Friend
- Razzmatazz
- Sunrise

ENCORE ONE
- This is Hardcore (dedicated to Steve Mackey)
- Countdown / O.U. (Gone, Gone)*
- Something Changed

ENCORE TWO
- Bar Italia*
- Common People

A bit overlong, so maybe you can ditch a few (I've asterisked them).

Of course it'd be lovely to hear some others too - I Spy, I Want You, My Legendary Girlfriend, She's A Lady, Birds in Your Garden, I'm A Man... god, there's so many...

(edited the setlist to be a bit more era-balanced)

This was bloody hard work guys. Limited myself to 20 songs (a few longer ones thrown in there).

MAIN SET:

1. Disco 2000
2. Pink Glove
3. Lipgloss
4. Bad Cover Version
5. Live Bed Show [with extended outro]
6. Razzmatazz
7. After You
8. Seconds
9. My Lighthouse
10. I Want You
11. Bob Lind (the only way is down)
12. This Is Hardcore [with End Of The Line intro]
13. The Day After The Revolution

ENCORE:

14. Countdown
15. Acrylic Afternoons
16. Underwear
17. Do You Remember The First Time?

SECOND ENCORE:

18. Bar Italia
19. Glory Days/Common People

It'd probably be entirely different tomorrow.

I've changed my mind. Here's my updated dream live setlist:

1. Do You Remember the First Time?

2. Mis-Shapes

3. Lipgloss

4. Party Hard

5. Catcliffe Shakedown

6. Someone Like The Moon

7. Dishes (played using spoons, plates, pots and pans)

8. Love Love

9. Sorted for Es and Wizz

10. Silence (but it is literally 4:30 of silence)

11. Anorexic Beauty (Russell Senior vocal)

12. Fairground (Nick Banks vocal)

13. The Birds in Your Garden (Complete and Utter Breakdown Version)

14. Bar Scunthorpe

15. Bob Lind - The Only Way is Down (with Bob Lind, but halfway through, they push him off the stage)

16. The Day After the Revolution

17. The Song After The Day After the Revolution

18. Common People - Vocoder Mix

----

ENCORE

19. Manon

20. Babies (sung by babies)

21. Something Changed (but the entire song has changed)

22. Joking Aside (followed by them now playing a normal, functional setlist)

To be followed by Captain Sleep DJ set.

I'm on board with all of that except the proposed disgusting treatment of Bob Lind.

Captain Sleep ftw though, definitely.

I think my dream Pulp setlist would be similar to Chile in 2012.
For the record, that set was:

Do You Remember the First Time?
Underwear
Razzmatazz
A Little Soul
Sorted for E's and Wizz
Sheffield: Sex City
She's a Lady
Lipgloss
Like a Friend
Babies
Party Hard
This is Hardcore
Sunrise
59 Lyndhurst Grove
Common People
----------
Disco 2000
Mile End
Bad Cover Version
Mis-Shapes

God, the people at that gig were lucky. A couple of tweaks maybe - Something Changed was on the setlist but not played, and I'd love either Acrylic Afternoons or Bar Italia on there somewhere - but wow. Not much more you could really ask for. As I'm going to a festival I'll likely 'just' get the hits - I say 'just' because, to be quite honest, I'd be immeasurably happy with hearing those hits - but still, wowzers.

Hopefully, it won't be just the two tracks from His 'n' Hers. Russell's non-involvement has banjaxed a lot of that album, but it'd be nice to hear more than First Time and Babies. Pink Glove, perhaps, or Joyriders. Another consequence of Steve's tragic absence is that, with a new touring bassist, they probably won't have rehearsed so many songs.

Me again, sorry!

Been thinking about what the probably setlist will be for the show I'm going to - TRNSMT, Glasgow Green, 7th July.

As it's a festival (and what an asinine lineup - George Ezra, Niall Horan...) - it'll likely be the hits. I'm going to write down a prediction now - see how right I am.

1. Do You Remember the First Time?
2. [Mile End / Monday Morning / Pencil Skirt]
3. Mis-Shapes
4. [Party Hard / Like a Friend / A Little Soul]
5. Disco 2000
6. Something Changed
7. Sorted for Es and Wizz
8. F.E.E.L.I.N.G.C.A.L.L.E.D.L.O.V.E.
9. I Spy
10. Babies
11. Underwear
12. This is Hardcore
13. Sunrise
14. Bar Italia
15. Common People

Possibility of This is Hardcore being saved for the encore (as part of the 'this is what we do for an encore' motif they're branding the shows with). Suppose Razzmatazz could also crop up.

Hoping for something else from His 'n' Hers (Joyriders? Pink Glove? In my wildest dreams, Lipgloss?) however, to be honest, my expectation is they'll only play Babies and First Time.

Maybe I've missed a trick not going to one of the bigger gigs - my initial aim was Finsbury Park - but logistically, living in Scotland and as a student, this is much more logistically plausible. Still, I'm hoping for just one surprise...

However, in reality, this is probably what we will get:

5. Mis-Shapes
6. Disco 2000
7. FEELINGCALLEDLOVE
8. I Spy
9. Underwear
10. Babies
11. This is Hardcore
12. Sunrise

Encore
13. Bar Italia
14. Common People

That's just 2011 rehashed. Boring...Come on, where's their 2013 smash hit After You? And they now have free reign to play more Hardcore and Life. Plus some curveballs dusted off for 2023.

Just like 2011 was 1995/6 rehashed biggrinbiggrin. Sorry, perhaps I'm being a bit too realistic.

Help the Aged maybe? Or A Little Soul?

Can't see them adding much else...

Born To Cry (if Richard Hawley makes an appearance)
Mile End
After You
...would be great, but I'm honestly easy.

I notice Leadmill still has Tuesday free for a surprise warm-up (apart from an Abba night starting at 11pm). Is this wishful thinking?

With you on the puffins! (And the Pulp as well, obviously.)

Hope everybody on here who's going has a lovely time! I'll try not to be too horrifically envious...

Blur played 23 songs at Colchester...

Surely there's no way Pulp will at Bridlington??

Try it, you might like it (or you might smudge your lipstick).

But seriously, they must have played close to 20 at Le Bikini in 2011.

Turned 30 the other day so you'd expect that had something to do with it!

Bikini hit 20 songs long (the usual 14-song setlist, with an encore of 6 including fan favourites). Brixton II and LA were 20 songs-long, and there were probably a couple more about that length; Mexico City was 24 songs long. And then there was Sheffield, of course.
