Assuming Pulp get added to Glastonbury, I think that would make them the first band to ever get 'relegated' from being a Pyramid headliner to a lower ranking slot ... With the exception of surprise special guest slots such as The Killers, Pulp themselves or Radiohead.

I believe that accolade would go to Echo & The Bunnymen, but many others have followed, including The Levellers, Elvis Costello, Ash, the Manics and Skunk Anansie.

Pulp would be best suited to headlining the Other Stage (always the better stage in my opinion!)

We got tickets, after they sold out. We got through to the card details page twice put the information in only for it to crash. Someone else in our group same happened to them but then an email came through at 10:30am confirming tickets.
So lucky.
Will you try in the resale Eamonn? Ive failed getting tickets twice since 2007 but got tickets in the re-sale. So not all hope is lost, if you can bare it.

I guess so, and at least lesson learned to keep trying!

Well done, I'm sure it'll be an epic one next summer with our heroes/heroine in the thick of it!

YAYAYAY! I got tickets to London and Scarborough. What a sleepless night but hopefully worth it. I'm travelling 6000 miles - never saw a show in GB before, let alone all up in Scarborough!

You guys will have to give this Seattleite some pointers on transport to Scarborough. Finsbury Park looks easy enough on the Tube.

I was living in NYC in 2012 but was actually in the hospital when Pulp played Radio City. So this time, nothing is going to stop me.

London's a doddle, of course, but Scarborough's trickier. I don't have any transport tips for Scarborough, but I guess train would be best, probably about 3hrs from London. My main tip is that English summers can be much colder than the summers in Seattle or New York - Scarborough is about 54deg N - so bring suitable clothing. It's not the arctic or anything, only mentioning it as I've had visitors from Michigan in recent years, and they found our summer temperature quite cool.

Probably a good idea to look for accommodation early. I like Scarborough, but it's about a century past its heyday, and a lot of Scarborough is very 'run down', which is a euphemism for rough (I don't know if 'rough' translates to American English?), and some of the accommodation is not of a high standard.

Also a pronunciation tip: it's two syllables, and sounds a bit like 'Scarbruh'.

A Pulp fan will know the word "rough", surely?!

#HaveYouSeenHerLately #BetterOffWithoutHim

And what a burn on Scarbados - a century past its heyday...cheeky scamp.

Thanks for the info! English summers match up pretty well with Seattle. Chilly & a bit rainy.

Rough - yup, Seattle is starting to look that way too these days.

The Primavera line-up was announced today for Barcelona and Madrid next June. I thought Pulp would be a shoe-in for this, given their and Jarvis' history with it. But it's Blur who headline.

Belated reply... If you want to get from London to Scarborough, you want a train up to York (~2 hours) then one to Scarborough (45 minutes). Lots of options for places to stay, but book well in advance as it gets booked up early in the summer. If you do your research you can probably get a nice independent guest house for less than the big nasty hotels.

You won't be able to get a train back to London after the gig - trains don't run late.

I've booked modest looking Air BnBs for Sheff and Bridlington. Hotel prices are really high, understandable to an extent with inflation but I just couldn't justify/afford it once I'd spent so much on actual gig tickets for Pulp next year.

Thanks Eammon - sounds good. I'm a school teacher here in the US and my school may actually run through July 1 because we went on strike in September. I may miss the London show! Ugh! But Scarborough is looking like I can make it. I still haven't gotten my physical tickets for Scarborough - trying not to get nervous but I live in a high property-crime/ mail-ripoff area. I seriously do not want someone else with these tickets :)

With some astonishment I have just secured 2 tickets for Brid from Twickets. I have had a Twickets alert for a few weeks now for all shows and every time one came through, it said it was already being purchased by someone else, even after a couple of seconds, so I was starting to wonder if bots can harvest Twickets. That and the footie, been a very good evening.

Thanks Eamonn and Sarah. I'd forgotten Eamonn is going to Bridlington too, it'd be nice to see you again. I think we might try to make it a day out and go and see the puffins too while we are there - I've been wanting to do that for a few years now. It's only an hour from my mum's in York. I hadn't realised it was such a big venue, nearly 4,000 according to interwebs, I'd assumed it was tiny. I just took what tickets I could that were indoor, but this actually sounds pretty exciting.

Sorry to put a downer on it but if it's puffins in the wild you're after bird flu has decimated the sea bird colonies in the north, and its raging inland Yorkshire too, lots of sad sights of dead birds about.  Most of the tourist stuff will probably still be on hold next spring / summer.

According to this, it's the poor gannets that have been really badly affected there at the moment, we will have to see what the situation is next summer. I adore gannets too, so that is very sad. They seem to have been the most affected all over the country.

Eamonn - are you planning to be in Brid longer than the evening of the gig and overnight? We could meet up for puffin watching or there is a 6 minute train trip to the cliffs where they live.
