I'm sure someone's already mentioned this on here, but I can't find it, sorry. Bands_FC is a group who have taken to making logos in the style of football teams for bands, using the relevant team the band are known to support if there is one. They made a Pulp badge to look like the Sheffield Wednesday old style owl and now they are planning to sell shirts. They have been in contact with Nick on Twitter - he is the biggest supporter from the band, also Hawley is a big supporter and Jarvis has got into following them lately and has been spotted at a few matches - there was some article in the Guardian a little while ago about where he said he wouldn't have believed it if you'd told him a couple of years ago. It looks like there is a plan to take any orders all in one go and then get them all made up, rather than having an ongoing shop.

Indidentally, the new, retro-style Sheffield Wednesday owl has been used as the basis for an excellent Arctic Monkeys badge.

Yeah, was going to post this before. Such a simple idea but the best ones are so inspired such as the Pulp/Sheffield Weds effort. Not an Owl myself but tempted by the shirt. There might have been a better Pulp reference for the sponsor but the way they have designed the Disco 2000 "sponsor" does make it look like an actual company.

If anyone is interested, they're available to order on 1 November. I don't think it's anything to do with trying to create a rush or limited editions, it's just that they're a very new group whose popularity has exploded far more than they expected and they want to take all the orders at once and then get them made, rather than having a speculative shop of stock which may or may not sell.

Incidentally, they were on the music news on Radio 6 this morning (about 8:40 am). The music reporter, Matt Everitt, was the drummer in Menswear and I think he found out about them when they got to doing a Menswear badge and did a report on them. They seem really blown away by the interest they have had, I think they said they only decided to tinker about with the idea during the World Cup. It's mostly badges, the Pulp shirt is the first shirt they are mass producing. They have an exhibition at the National Football Museum, which I believe is in Manchester.

Shirt sale went very well, they have raised £30,000 for Sheffield Children's Hospital.
