I don't know why, but I can't post a link from the Pulp-facebookpage here. It's on youtube. If you give in

"Jarvis gives message to Montreal audience" I hope you will find it.

Maybe someone of you here can manage it.

With as long as he takes to do these things I might be back in LA (ba dum tss) before he potentially tours again and be able to see him! (that is jumping ahead a bit too far, I realize)

That was brill! How exciting. Thanks for posting, Maidmarion. Seeing Jarvis in his basement is like spotting a rare bird in its natural habitat...

At the moment it is a little bit like having an Adventskalender (ggogle that!) in November. Every morning, there is a little present on the Pulp facebookpage. Very nice, after starving for such a long time.
This morning, there were two nice presents: Have a look!

That was really a wonderfully insightful and inspiring interview once Jarvis got past the obligatory promotional stuff for the film.

Sorry you missed Florian, Maidmarian. But don't worry, something Pulp-related always comes up when you least expect it and I bet there'll be another chance.

The Vulture interview was really good - thanks for posting. It was like Jarvis was in the room! I was interested that he is enjoying writing - non-musical writing. Most intriguing... (rubs chin). Wonder what he's up to?

So, finally: The Pulpfilm will be shown on Sunday in Cologne

www.coolibri.de/veranstaltungen/heute/pulp-a-film-about-life-death/1226812.html

That's what I'd call a really bad advertisment!!!

But Jarvis will be djing tomorrow night on a festival in Cologne, so maybe... keep your fingers crossed!!!

After two very sad evenings (sitting with a bad cold at home, knowing that Jarvis is singing just 50 km ahead in Cologne) this morning I found these articles about the two sold out concerts in the Cologne Philharmony with Chilly Gonzales and Jarvis as special guest. It must have been brilliant (what else?)

http://www.ksta.de/kultur/chilly-gonzales-in-der-philharmonie-im-morgenmantel-gegen-wagner,15189520,29440320.html

Here are the parts about Jarvis: He and Gonzales know each other, because they lived in the same area in Paris.

They both wrote a song for a Russel-Brand comedy about an drugaddicted rockstar, which was not in the film (that sounds familiar to me!)

Here are the parts about Jarvis: 3 songs inspired by old Hollywood songs

(Cocker proved that he hasn't lost his sense for scenic theatrics. Gonzales, the real star of the evening has invited an equal partner. That speaks for his self-confidence). Sorry for my grammer!!!!!!!!!!!

If you want more translations, ask.

Smashing news. I was listening to the superb French 'Black Sessions' recording the other day and came to realize just how much his first record has stuck with me over Further Complications. Maybe that's because the album came after such a long drought, a Pulp-reunion still seeming impossible at that point.

I wonder if reunion-jamming will have informed any of Jarvis' new tracks, if these are not after all going to appear on a Pulp recording?

I don't think we ever highlighted this bit from the Pitchfork interview below. The interview was published on 21 November and refers to a conversation "earlier this month", so it's a while ago.

"The iconic frontman just wrapped up a day of lyric writing at his label Rough Trades offices and hes feeling particularly inspired."

Now he's never going to commit himself to admitting to what end these lyrics are being written, but history teaches us that this is often the last, panic-driven stage of the process for him. Why in Rough Trade's offices? Does he feel the need for a change of scenery and/or someone keeping an eye on him to make sure it happens? Food for thought/rabid speculation!
